How times change... Frêche Perspective on display for the first time

I received two calls enquiring if I could exhibit in less than a week. Funny how things turn around as I can remember when after contacting up to 15 potential exhibition places no one, but no one got back to me. So in less than 18 months this can change quite dramatically.

I have wanted to exhibit at the MJC Castelnau because the centre is a superb location for an expo. Great lighting, lots of wall space (room for my creations to breath) and the MJC team are really great people to work with.

So 22 works on display, the private view will take place on wednesday the 23rd November 2011 at 18h30 and I'm looking forward to a great exhibition. Many thanks to Martine PLANE the President and Helen Chanteloup the Director of the MJC.

Mister Montpellier 1938 2010 - 120 x 60cm : Dec 2010

Having produced my first George Frêche commemorative portrait at the end of 2010, that was commissioned by a private collector - I felt driven to produce a second larger piece when I heard that there was a foundation to be set up in memory of this widely popular and controversial local political giant, who parted company with us in November of 2010.

Regardless of political preference Frêche changed the face and the functionality of Montpellier. For better of for worse ? Here lies a subject that, as an artist, it is not my domain to enter into. I am a creative and provide artworks that stimulate others to discuss and ponder.

You can see my work at the forthcoming 'Florilege Salon d'art' at Baillargues from the 1st to the 9th of October 2011. This is a collective exhibition of 11 artists & sculptors that I was selected for after my first exhibition in Teyran, 2010. If you can make it I look forward to meeting you in Baillargues.
